Terms of Service

This version: 28 August 2026
This document reflects Drevva's actual current app behaviour (fee structure, data practices, payment mechanics) as of the effective date above. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. See our Privacy Policy for related information.

1. Who We Are and What This Agreement Covers

Drevva ("Drevva", "we", "us", "our") operates a mobile application and related services (the "Service") through which car owners ("Customers") can request an on-demand roadside call-out: Drevva getting a vetted mechanic, filler, vulcaniser, or other automotive service provider to their location. Drevva sells and provides that call-out service itself, and fulfils it using independent contractors ("Mechanics", "Merchants", or "Service Providers") it engages for the purpose.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding legal agreement between you and Drevva. By creating an account, browsing, or using any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service as a Mechanic/Merchant, the sections below addressed to "Mechanics" or "Merchants" apply to you in addition to the general sections. If you use the Service as a Customer, the sections addressed to "Customers" apply to you in addition to the general sections.

2. What Drevva Provides — and What It Doesn't

Drevva sells one thing directly to Customers: the call-out. When you pay Drevva the call-out fee, you are paying Drevva for the service of getting a vetted Mechanic to your location — not paying a Mechanic through Drevva, and not paying into a shared account that Drevva holds on anyone's behalf. Drevva engages Mechanics as independent contractors to fulfil that call-out on Drevva's behalf, and pays them a fee out of Drevva's own revenue for doing so, in the same way any business pays a contractor for work performed. See Section 9 for exactly how and when that happens.

This means the call-out itself — a Mechanic actually showing up, being who they claim to be, and conducting themselves appropriately while attending to you — is Drevva's responsibility. If a Mechanic never shows up, misrepresents who they are, or behaves inappropriately in the course of the call-out, that is a matter between you and Drevva, not a stranger Drevva merely introduced you to.

What Drevva does NOT sell or provide, and is not a party to, is the repair itself. Drevva does not employ Mechanics as repair technicians, does not itself perform vehicle repairs, diagnostics, towing, fuel delivery, tyre service, or any other automotive work, and does not price, collect, or hold any money for that work. Once a Mechanic is with you, the cost, quality, and terms of any actual repair, part, or service performed are agreed and settled directly between you and the Mechanic, off-platform, as their own separate transaction — Drevva is not a party to it. See Section 12 (Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability) for exactly how this call-out/workmanship distinction affects your rights and Drevva's.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a legally binding contract under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.

Mechanics additionally confirm that they hold, or will obtain, any license, permit, insurance, or registration required by Nigerian law to lawfully perform the automotive services they offer through the Service, and that they are entering these Terms as an independent contractor engaged by Drevva to fulfil call-outs, not as a Drevva employee or agent — see Section 2. Drevva does not verify professional licensing beyond the identity and workshop checks described in Section 7 — holding yourself out as licensed or qualified when you are not is a violation of these Terms and may expose you to legal liability independent of Drevva.

4. Your Account

You may create an account using an email address and password, a Google account, or a Nigerian mobile phone number verified by one-time passcode (OTP). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@drevva.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to receive promotional credit, circumvent a suspension, or manipulate dispatch, ratings, or referral mechanics is a violation of these Terms and grounds for termination of all associated accounts, denial of any pending refund tied to the violation, and forfeiture of any pending Mechanic payout obtained through the violation.

If you sign up with an email and password, you must verify that email address. If you do not verify it within 7 days, your account and any associated data are automatically deleted and you will need to sign up again. This does not apply if you sign up or sign in with Google, or if you sign up with a phone number.

5. Customer Terms — Requesting a Service

When you request a Mechanic, Drevva broadcasts your request to every dispatch-eligible Mechanic within range (currently 10 kilometres of your location) at the same time, rather than to one Mechanic at a time. You are not charged anything at this point — no charge happens unless and until a Mechanic actually accepts your request.

Once a Mechanic accepts, Drevva charges you the flat call-out fee (currently ₦5,000) via Paystack, our payment processor — a discrete, one-off charge to your card, bank transfer, or USSD. Drevva does not hold a stored wallet balance for you. This fee is Drevva's own fee for the service of getting that Mechanic to you (see Section 2) — you are paying Drevva, not the Mechanic, and not a shared account Drevva holds on the Mechanic's behalf.

If no Mechanic accepts your request within approximately 20 minutes, the request is automatically cancelled — since nothing was charged, there is nothing to refund. At that point you may instead choose to use the Mechanics Near Me map feature, described below.

You may cancel a request yourself at any point after a Mechanic has accepted (and so you have been charged) but before that Mechanic's arrival is verified. Doing so refunds ₦3,500 of the ₦5,000 fee to you and grants you 24-hour access to the Mechanics Near Me map feature, which shows nearby verified workshops; the remaining ₦1,500 is retained by Drevva as its fee for the dispatch already carried out. The same ₦3,500-refund-plus-map-access outcome applies if you choose to use the Mechanics Near Me feature instead of continuing to wait after no Mechanic has accepted. This ₦1,500 retention on a post-acceptance cancellation is intended to discourage frivolous or repeated cancellations after a Mechanic has already been dispatched, and is disclosed to you in the app before you are charged.

Once a Mechanic has arrived and that arrival has been verified, cancellation is handled through the dispute process in Section 11 rather than a simple refund, because the Mechanic has already travelled to you.

6. Customer Terms — Confirming Arrival, Confirming Completion, and Ratings

There are two separate confirmation steps in a job, and they do different things.

First, after a Mechanic marks that they have arrived at your location (verified by their device's GPS location), you should confirm arrival in the app once the Mechanic is actually present. Confirming arrival does not move any money — it is a trust signal only, and it unlocks the Mechanic's ability to begin work and, later, your ability to rate them.

Second, once the Mechanic marks the call-out complete, you will be asked to confirm the call-out was actually carried out — this covers the call-out only; the cost of any repair or parts is a separate matter you settle directly with the Mechanic (see Section 2). Confirming here is what starts the process of Drevva paying the Mechanic's fee for that call-out (Section 9). If you do not respond within 12 hours, the call-out is automatically treated as confirmed, so that a Mechanic who genuinely completed a call-out is not left waiting indefinitely for a Customer who simply doesn't respond.

If something went wrong — the Mechanic never showed up despite marking arrival, performed the call-out poorly, or you were overcharged beyond the agreed call-out fee — raise a dispute (Section 11) instead of confirming, as soon as possible.

Once a job has reached the "arrived" stage, you may leave the Mechanic a rating (1 to 5 stars) and a written review of up to 500 characters. Reviews must be honest, based on your actual experience, and must not contain defamatory, harassing, or unlawful content. You may rate a given job once.

7. Mechanic Terms — Verification Tiers

Drevva uses a tiered verification system to control what a Mechanic can do on the Service:

• Red (default): a newly registered Mechanic. Not dispatch-eligible.

• Yellow: requires submitting a government-issued photo ID and a selfie for identity verification, plus your state, local government area, and area of operation.

• Green: dispatch-eligible. Requires submitting your National Identification Number (NIN), a photo of your workshop, your years of experience, your service specialisations, the names and phone numbers of two professional references, and your bank payout details (bank name, account number, account name), which Drevva uses to pay you the call-out fee described in Section 9 for call-outs you fulfil as Drevva's independent contractor. Green-tier Mechanics also agree to Drevva's Code of Conduct (Section 8) before this tier is granted.

• Gold: an enhanced tier for top-performing, long-standing Mechanics (criteria set by Drevva and communicated separately).

You confirm that all information and documents you submit for verification — including your NIN, government ID, references, and bank details — are accurate, current, and belong to you. Submitting false, stolen, or another person's identity or financial information is a serious violation of these Terms, may constitute fraud under Nigerian law, and will result in immediate account termination and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.

Drevva reviews Green and Yellow applications manually. We may approve, reject, or request more information, and we may revoke a tier (including demoting a Green Mechanic back to a lower tier, which removes dispatch eligibility) at our discretion if we later determine the application contained false information or the Mechanic violated these Terms or the Code of Conduct.

8. Mechanic Terms — Code of Conduct

Every Green-tier Mechanic agrees to the following Code of Conduct before receiving jobs, and continued adherence to it is a condition of remaining dispatch-eligible:

1. Honesty — you will provide accurate diagnoses and fair pricing to Customers at all times.

2. Professionalism — you will arrive on time, communicate clearly, and complete jobs to a high standard.

3. Safety — you will never compromise on safety; all repairs will meet the minimum safety standard.

4. Respect — you will treat every Customer with respect regardless of gender, age, or background.

5. Transparency — you will provide a clear breakdown of costs before starting any work.

You further agree that if a Customer disputes your work, you will let Drevva mediate the dispute and will accept the outcome of that mediation (Section 11), and that you will not charge prices significantly above prevailing local market rates for the same work without the Customer's prior agreement.

A pattern of Code of Conduct violations, substantiated Customer complaints, or a low average rating may result in demotion to a lower tier, temporary suspension, or permanent termination, at Drevva's discretion.

9. How You're Charged, and How Drevva Pays Mechanics

You are charged the ₦5,000 call-out fee once — at the moment a Mechanic accepts your request, not before (Section 5). That payment is Drevva's own revenue for the call-out service from the moment it is collected. Drevva is not holding it on anyone else's behalf, and no part of it sits in any kind of escrow, hold, or shared account awaiting release.

Separately, and out of Drevva's own funds, Drevva pays the Mechanic who fulfilled your call-out a ₦3,500 fee for having done so — the same way any business pays a contractor an invoice for completed work. This is not "your payment" being passed on to the Mechanic; it is Drevva engaging and paying its own subcontractor.

That payment to the Mechanic is made after two things happen: (1) you confirm the call-out was completed, or 12 hours pass without a response and it is automatically treated as confirmed (Section 6); and (2) a further 24 hours pass after that confirmation. This roughly 24–36 hour gap exists so that a genuine problem with the call-out (Section 11) can be raised and reviewed before Drevva pays its contractor for it — it is a routine business precaution, not a mechanism for holding a Customer's or Mechanic's money. If a dispute is raised in that window, Drevva may pause paying the Mechanic while it reviews the matter (Section 11).

Drevva reserves the right to change these timings and the fee structure described in this section with notice as described in Section 20.

10. Fees and Payments

The current call-out fee is a flat ₦5,000 for dispatch within 10 kilometres of the Customer's location — this is Drevva's own fee for the call-out service described in Section 2, charged to you directly. Out of Drevva's own revenue from that fee, Drevva separately pays engaged Mechanics ₦3,500 as their fee for fulfilling the call-out, as described in Section 9. Drevva may change this fee structure, including introducing distance-based or emergency pricing, with notice.

All Customer charges and Mechanic payments are processed through Paystack, a licensed Nigerian payment service provider. Drevva does not hold a stored wallet balance for any user — every Customer charge is a discrete, one-off transaction made only once a Mechanic accepts, and every payment to a Mechanic is a discrete bank transfer of Drevva's own funds. Payments are subject to Paystack's own terms of service in addition to these Terms.

Payments to Mechanics require a valid Nigerian bank account submitted at Green-tier verification (Section 7). Drevva is not responsible for a payment sent to an incorrect account number that a Mechanic entered inaccurately, though our payment processor performs account-name verification where available to reduce this risk.

All amounts on the Service are in Nigerian Naira (₦) unless stated otherwise.

11. Disputes and Mediation

If something goes wrong with a call-out, either party may raise a dispute through the Service, generally before or shortly after the confirmation window described in Section 6 would otherwise close. Raising a dispute pauses Drevva's payment to the Mechanic for that call-out until Drevva reviews the matter.

Drevva reviews the information available to us — job details, location data, in-app chat history, and each party's account of events — and, as the party responsible for the call-out (Section 2), decides for itself whether to pay its contractor for the call-out or refund the Customer. Both parties agree that this decision is final and binding as between Drevva and that party, though it does not waive either party's independent legal rights against the other party outside of the call-out fee (for example, a claim over the quality of a repair or the cost of parts is a matter between Customer and Mechanic directly, not Drevva — see Section 2).

A Mechanic found to be at fault in a dispute is not paid Drevva's call-out fee for that job and is logged internally; a pattern of upheld disputes may lead to demotion or removal from the Service under Section 7 or 8, separately from — not instead of — Drevva's decision on that individual call-out. Drevva is not obligated to mediate disputes about the quality of workmanship or repairs, since that is not part of the call-out Drevva itself provides (Section 2); we encourage — but cannot compel — Mechanics and Customers to resolve workmanship disputes directly, and either party remains free to pursue any other legal remedy available to them under Nigerian law.

12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

[COUNSEL REVIEW FLAG: this section draws the line between what Drevva is directly liable for (the call-out, as principal) and what it is not (workmanship/repairs, off-platform). This split is the central legal consequence of the payment architecture described in Section 2 and should be reviewed and, if needed, redrafted by qualified counsel before relying on it — the language below is a good-faith first draft, not a final position.]

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY NIGERIAN LAW, DREVVA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Because the call-out is Drevva's own service, fulfilled through Mechanics Drevva engages as independent contractors (Section 2), Drevva does not disclaim responsibility for the call-out itself: if the Mechanic Drevva sent never shows up despite accepting, is not who they were represented to be, or behaves inappropriately in the course of attending to you, that is a matter for which Drevva is directly answerable to you, subject to the rest of this Section 12 and the dispute process in Section 11.

Because the repair or service performed once a Mechanic arrives is a separate, direct transaction between you and the Mechanic that Drevva does not price, collect for, or supervise (Section 2), Drevva is NOT liable for: the quality, safety, or legality of any repair, diagnosis, or parts supplied by a Mechanic; damage to your vehicle arising from that repair work itself (as opposed to damage arising from the call-out attendance); or a dispute between you and a Mechanic over the workmanship, pricing, or outcome of that repair, which is between you and the Mechanic directly.

Mechanics are independent contractors engaged by Drevva to fulfil call-outs, not Drevva employees or agents for any purpose beyond the call-out described above — in particular, nothing in this Section makes Drevva responsible for a Mechanic's conduct in performing repair work, or in any dealings between a Mechanic and Customer that fall outside the call-out itself.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Drevva's total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount of call-out fees you paid to Drevva in the 3 months preceding the claim, or (b) ₦10,000. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law, including liability for fraud or gross negligence by Drevva itself.

[COUNSEL REVIEW FLAG: confirm this cap is still appropriate given Drevva now carries direct liability for the call-out itself, not just a facilitation role.]

13. Prohibited Conduct

In addition to conduct described elsewhere in these Terms, you agree not to:

• Create fraudulent, duplicate, or automated ("bot") accounts, or use the Service to test, scrape, or abuse our systems.

• Circumvent the Service to arrange a call-out directly with the other party outside the app, in order to avoid paying Drevva for its call-out service, after being connected through Drevva.

• Submit false identity documents, a false NIN, false references, or false bank details.

• Harass, threaten, defraud, or discriminate against another user.

• Use the Service for any purpose that is illegal under the laws of Nigeria or any applicable jurisdiction.

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, or use an unofficial or modified build of the app to access Drevva's systems.

Violating this section may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, denial of any pending refund tied to the violation, forfeiture of any pending Mechanic payout obtained through the violation, and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.

14. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers to function, including Google Firebase and Google Cloud (hosting, authentication, database, storage, push notifications, and app-integrity verification), Google Maps Platform (maps, geocoding, and directions), Google Sign-In, Termii (SMS one-time passcodes), and Paystack (payment processing). Your use of features backed by these providers is also subject to their own terms and privacy practices. Drevva is not responsible for outages, errors, or data handling by these third parties beyond our obligations under our Privacy Policy.

15. Intellectual Property

The Drevva name, logo, app design, and all content and software that make up the Service (excluding user-submitted content like reviews, chat messages, and profile photos) are owned by Drevva or its licensors and are protected by Nigerian and international intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our written permission.

By submitting a review, chat message, workshop photo, or other content to the Service, you grant Drevva a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service (for example, showing a Mechanic's workshop photo on their profile, or displaying anonymised ratings).

16. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting support@drevva.com. Drevva may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, the Code of Conduct, or applicable law, or to protect the safety or integrity of the Service.

If your account is terminated while a job is in progress or a payment to a Mechanic is still pending under Section 9, Drevva will resolve that outstanding job — including any dispute under Section 11 — before finalising the termination.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 12 (Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability), 15 (Intellectual Property), and 18 (Governing Law) — survive termination of your account.

17. Changes to These Terms

Drevva may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to an update, you should stop using the Service and may request account deletion.

18. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.

19. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Drevva's failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Drevva regarding the Service. Events beyond Drevva's reasonable control (including outages of third-party providers listed in Section 14, network or power failures, or government action) do not constitute a breach of these Terms.

20. Contact Us

Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@drevva.com.
